The Obama Legacy Initiative - Fighting

Communications executive Sean Tenner serves as president of KNI Communications in Chicago, Illinois. Sean Tenner also has chaired the board of directors for the Obama Legacy Initiative (OLI) since co-founding the nonprofit organization in 2017.

In addition to honoring United States military heroes through its Gold Star Memorial program, OLI fights food insecurity throughout the Illinois counties of Cook, DuPage Kendall, Kane, and Will. It strives to eliminate regional food deserts, geographically devoid of accessible and affordable nutritious food.

OLI supports food pantries by donating produce for community distribution. OLI has given more than 900 pounds of fresh vegetables to people in need in the past two years alone.

OLI also impacts the community directly by planting raised garden beds and hosting public educational initiatives on gardening. In addition to helping members of the general public grow their own food, the organization stresses the importance of healthy eating.
